If I wear my Submariner 14060m for more than three or four days in a row then I'll develop a red, itchy rash (it only occurs while wearing the Sub). All I do now is apply a dab of triamcinolone 0.1% cream to my wrist, and I've never had a problem. I would check for other things that could be getting under your bracelet and . Rolex's "Oystersteel" is very anti-corrosive, and its high nickel content can irritate those with allergies. But they have some options. I have a moderate nickel allergy, even 316L will give me a problem if I sweat (the salt water leeches the nickel out of the steel). Rolex 904L has an even higher nickel content (approx double of 316L), so I won't even attempt it. Put it on a Perlon, MN strap, or NATO. Or find a watch in titanium. I have a moderate allergy to nickel in metal. I can wear Rolex without issues but bought an Ebel chrono as a semi beater and it gives me a reaction. Can anyone tell me what brands are good to go for those with a sensitivity to Nickel? Sadly, the 904 L alloy Rolex uses comes with a 24 to 26% amount of nickel in it. So yes, it can be an allergic reaction to nickel. And it's actually quite a high amount when compared to 316 L, another alloy used for wrist watches, it only has about 11.6%.

I have a minor nickel allergy, it’s more like sensitivity. It comes and goes. I’m wearing a 904L Rolex now without an issue or discomfort. I find a couple of triggers: 1. When I sweat a lot while wearing the watch (e.g. bike commuting while wearing a watch) 2. When the humidity in the air drops sharply.Rolex stainless steel didn’t change to 904L until around 2005-ish (I think) so if you’re allergic to one, you’re probably fine with the other. There's lots of stainless steel allows, 316L just happens to be the most common one for watches (often called marine grade.)
I’m looking for advice on a coating or treatment for my Rolex. I’ve got a Datejust, but it seems the nickel in the oystersteel gives me an allergic reaction. Is there any sort of permanent clear coating I can have applied, and if so, recommendations for places that do it? 904L steel in Rolex has VERY high Nickel content (25% or so). So, it can even trigger someone who may have very minor nickel allergy.
